She became involved in her profession after being recruited to work in the industry.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Koehler’s casework has attracted much media attention. A missing person case was portrayed on an episode of "Unsolved Mysteries;" a capital case was featured in Val McDermid’s “A Suitable Job for A Woman;” and crime writer, Ann Rule, chronicled a case involving a missing nightclub owner in her story, “In the Name of Love.” Ms. Koehler drew on her investigative and retail experience to create the three-part video called “Loss Prevention–The Big Picture.” As a result of this video, she was invited to Moscow to speak to Russian nationals interested in privatization. She recently began hosting, “PI’s Declassified,” an Internet radio show that airs on and is available for download on iTunes. Ms. Koehler is the former two-term president of the California Association of Licensed Investigators and former two-term president of the National Council of Investigation and Security Services. She has received awards from both organizations, serves on their legislation committees, and regularly testifies before the California State Legislature regarding issues concerning private investigators. She currently chairs California’s legislation committee and formerly chaired the same committee for the National Association of Legal Investigators. Ms. Koehler has been recognized by the state regulatory agency for outstanding service to her profession and has served as a subject matter expert for the California private investigator licensing examination. She also works with the Santa Clara University's Innocence Project and is a certified conflict mediator. Ms. Koehler is the recipient of an Investigator Philosopher Award from the Criminal Defense Investigation Counsel, and that award was never bestowed on anyone prior to her.

1) Locating, interviewing and evaluating witnesses for criminal defense trials; Collecting evidence; Helping attorneys prepare for trial; Conducting pre- and post-trial investigations 2) Hosting a weekly Internet radio show, which airs every Thursday at 9 a.m., PST; Inviting guests; Developing programs; Interviewing private investigators; Fielding listeners' phone calls
